Terms of Service

1. The service

RecBaba provides a browser extension and website for recording, editing, and optionally sharing screen recordings. Recording and editing work locally in your browser without an account. Creating an account and signing in is required only to upload and share a recording. These terms apply to the extension, the website, and any related features we offer.

2. Your content

You retain ownership of everything you record and upload. By uploading a recording and sharing it, you confirm you have the right to record and share that content, including obtaining any consent required from people appearing in it. You grant us a limited license to store, transmit, and display uploaded recordings solely to provide sharing and related features you turn on.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to record or share content that is illegal, infringes on others’ rights, or violates the privacy of people who have not consented to being recorded. The Acceptable Use Policy is part of these terms.

4. Account and data deletion

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. This immediately deletes every recording you have uploaded, cancels paid billing at the gateway, and ends all your active sessions. For technical and abuse-prevention reasons, the account record itself is permanently removed after a short grace period. Local files that were never uploaded stay on your computer.

5. Service availability

We aim to keep the service reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Local recording and editing continue to work from files already on your device even if the website is temporarily unavailable. Features that need our servers — sharing, account settings, Drive — may be unavailable during an outage.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, or that recordings will never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RecBaba and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars (US$50). Some places do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless RecBaba and its operators from claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from content you record or share, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms or applicable law.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the courts at the operator’s primary place of business have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
