We built this because the default in screen recording is wrong.
Most tools treat a capture as something to send to a server the moment you hit stop. That is convenient for chat. It is the wrong default if the screen showed a customer, a dashboard, or a password field.
Why it exists
RecBaba started from the opposite assumption: the file should stay on the computer that recorded it. Editing should open that file, not a copy we uploaded first. A shareable link should be a later decision — one you make on purpose.
On the Chrome Web Store the same product is listed as Screen Recorder 4K - With Mic & System Audio. RecBaba is the name of that recorder as a product: 4K capture, mic and system audio, no watermark, no login to record — plus a local editor and optional sharing on recbaba.com.
How we run it
This is an independent product. There is no ad network on recordings, and we do not sell your information. Local recording and editing run on your device, so they cost us nothing extra to offer. RecBaba-hosted share links are on Pro and Max. Google Drive saves use your own Drive quota.
Sign in with Google or with email and password to identify you when you share. Connecting Drive is a separate permission, and only if you ask for it.
What we will not do
- We will not make upload the default.
Recording and export stay on your computer unless you click Share.
- We will not require an account to trim a clip.
An account exists for sharing, not for opening the editor.
- We will not put a brand on your file.
Exports have no watermark. What you capture is yours.
- We will not hide how data moves.
