## Do I need to create an account to record my screen?

No. Recording works entirely through the browser extension, with no sign-in required.

## Do I need an account to edit or export my recording?

No. The editor opens your recording directly from local browser storage and lets you trim, cut sections, and export without signing in.

## When does my recording actually get uploaded?

Only when you click Share in the editor. That is the one and only action that starts an upload — recording, saving edits, and exporting never upload anything on their own.

## Do I need to sign in to share a recording?

Yes — creating a share link is the only action that needs an account. If you’re not signed in, clicking Create link will ask you to log in or create an account first, then finish creating the link. Exporting an MP4 never needs an account.

## What happens if I never click Share?

Your recording stays on your device only. It is never sent to our servers, and we have no copy of it.

## Can I record my screen with system audio and my microphone at the same time?

Yes. You can enable system audio, microphone, or both, and they're mixed automatically into the recording.

## What formats can I export to?

You can export a fully edited MP4, or download the original recorded file.

## How do shared links stay private?

Share links are private links only you can generate — not something anyone could guess or find. Password, expiry, and download control are on Pro. You can revoke a link at any time.

## How much RecBaba-hosted storage do I get?

RecBaba-hosted uploads and share links are on Pro and Max. Pro includes 10 GB storage, a 5 GB per-file cap, and 30 GB of new hosted uploads per month. Max includes 25 GB storage, a 10 GB per-file cap, and 75 GB of monthly upload. Google Drive saves use your Drive quota and do not count toward RecBaba storage. Local recording and export stay free.

## Is there a time limit when I record in 4K?

On Free, recording time follows the real output height: unlimited at 720p and below, 30 minutes at 1080p or 1440p, and 5 minutes at 4K. The recorder auto-stops and keeps the footage. Pro and Max have no recording-time cap. There is still no watermark on any plan.

## Can I include my webcam while I record?

Yes. Camera and Camera Bubble are free on every plan, including Free. The bubble is composited into the recording on your device.

## What do AI transcript, summary, and chapters cost?

Transcript generation is available after you upload via Share (Pro+). Summary and chapters are on Pro and Max. Both draw from a monthly AI-minutes allowance: 100 minutes on Pro and 400 on Max. Generating a transcript uses the recording length in minutes; summary and chapters each use 2 minutes. Used minutes are not refunded if a job fails.

## Will search engines index my shared recording?

No. A share is a link you send to someone — it is not listed publicly. Search engines are asked not to index it, and there is no public directory of shared recordings.

## Can I send a recording to Google Drive?

Yes, from the editor. This requests access limited only to files the app itself creates in your Drive — never broad access to your existing files. The upload goes from your browser to Google, not through our servers, and you can disconnect it at any time.

## Can I delete a recording or my whole account?

Yes. You can delete an individual recording at any time, which removes the file immediately. You can also delete your entire account from Settings.

## Is there a watermark on exported videos?

No. Exported videos have no watermark on any plan — Free, Pro, or Max.

## Can I put my own logo on a share page?

Yes, on Max. Settings → Brand kit is a share-page studio: named kits, theme, bio/links/socials/services, and an end-screen CTA. New shares follow your default kit unless you pick another. Links are outbound only — RecBaba does not store contact-form leads. Pages stay noindex. Exported files are still unwatermarked.

## Does this work on browsers other than Chrome?

The recording extension currently targets Chrome. The web editor itself works in any modern browser once a recording has been opened through the extension.
